According to the American Heart Association (AHA), CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival if performed immediately after cardiac arrest. CPR’s goal is to keep oxygenated blood flowing through the body and keep oxygen flowing in and out of the lungs.
The benefits of CPR include:
- Saving lives
- Preventing permanent brain damage
- Faster recovery for victims
- Confidence in emergency situations
- Increased safety at home and workplace
